In the Heart of the Sea tells the story of the whale ship Essex, one of the most harrowing tales of survival at sea every recorded.

The brief image of a whaler tossing a harpoon from the ship rather than a whaleboat made me leery, but the rest of the trailer looks darn good.

It does look good. I presume that particular shot is during the sequence where the whale attacks the ship. There are definitely other shots of the men in boats.

I have been fascinated by this story since I read about it in an American Heritage book on whaling, probably 45+ years ago.
