Congratulations to my friend and colleague Kevin Levin, whose new book Searching for Black Confederates now has a cover and an August release date. It’s been a long time coming, this one.

I know some folks that I need to gift with this book, including, unfortunately, an archaeologist for the National Forest Service. Thanks for letting us know about it.

  I had the opportunity to read part of the near-final manuscript. It’s more complex and covers more territory than a lot of folks will expect.
