Good Heavens, I may start a GoFundMe drive to buy these folks a spell-checker.

Update, February 18: I’ve been requested to remove this blog post in deference to the person who put it up on Facebook. While I’m not inclined to remove the post entirely, I have removed that person’s name from it, and deleted the link to the original.

Unfortunately, a spell checker would not help with “Unknow” and “Poll.” What you need is a fundraising drive to send some this folks off to college to get them an “educasion.” At the same time, they might take a course or two in history. I’d suggest a good, solid course on the late Rebellion and then one on Reconstruction.

I agree with the Ohio Guy. Educashin is desperately needed.

This is sad, on several counts.

It would be interesting to see the SCV censure these folks for putting their logo on that mess. Not holding my breath, though.

In 1906, President Theodore Roosevelt launched a phonetic (or maybe fonetik) spelling reform campaign that brought a wave of mocking editorial cartoons. He ultimately dropped the idea.
