    Andy,

Are you familiar with the albums The Union and the Confederacy that was recorded for Columbia around 1962 with an orchestra recorded by Richard Bales. When I was a kid my father bought the LPs and I must have worn them out. I have The Union on cd and one of my favorite songs on there besides Aura Lee is the Imvalid Corps. Great, great albums. You can probably find them on eBay I suppose.

Yes, since they’re out of production, they’re expensive. I got the Union before it went OOP but was never able to get the Confederate one. Would you like a copy of the Union one?

Nothing better than a swim in the Gulf during a blue norther. Just don’t get out of the water until it passes.

I know folks from Japan who think it’s the greatest American song ever and can’t understand how Elvis could have written it.
