Texas Navy Association Adm. Jim Bevill, author of The Paper Republic and an accomplished historian of early Texas, will present a talk on the mutiny aboard the Texian Schooner-of-War San Antonio on Tuesday, July 10, at the Laffite Society at the Meridian Towers Retirement Center, 23rd at Seawall in Galveston. Dinner begins at 6 p.m. ($8), followed by Jim’s presentation.

Jim is one of the most engaging speakers it’s been my privilege to hear. This will be a fun evening with good food, good fellowship, and good history.
