Keep Your Friends Close. . . .

Although Dead Confederates has only been online a short time, it’s quickly generated attention in some quarters. What do they have to say?
Mike Tuggle at the League of the South’s Rebellion Blog, June 24, 2010:
[Bloggers Andy Hall, Corey Meyer, Kevin Levin and author Ed Sebesta] remind me of the creepy serial killers from a Patricia Cornwell thriller. Cornwell’s villains can’t have meaningful human relationships, so they stalk and murder those who do. Young couples are the usual victims of these ghouls because the couples possess something the stalkers can’t have. My guess is that anti-Southern cyber-stalkers resent a living, vibrant culture with rich traditions and a sense of belonging and meaning that’s been denied them, so they snipe at those who do. If they can’t have cultural moorings, no one else can, either. . . . We’re getting a glimpse into a shallow, unfulfilled life. . . .
As Jed Clampett would say, “Pitiful. Jest pitiful.”
Mike Tuggle at the League of the South’s Rebellion Blog, August 13, 2010:
Hall started the week by laying out his bona fides to parrot the approved view of Mr. Lincoln’s War — certified scallywag, leftist politics, and anti-Southern bias. . . . Every post Hall submitted to The Atlantic this week mindlessly echoed official orthodoxy regarding the WBTS — the enlightened forces of liberation and democracy swept through the South, meting out well-deserved thashings to white Southerners, who needed a lesson in being good Americans, blah-blah-blah. . . .
Today, Hall featured the most sophomoric, politically correct, self-celebrating doggerel ever to assault the Internet. . . .

Andy you and Corey [Meyer] make these outlandish statements because you want to demonize somebody, some prominent Southernor [sic.] – you and the pryor woman [Robert E. Lee biographer Elizabeth Brown Pryor] are full of smoke screens to fit your agenda. . . .
Carl W. Roden, commenting on Macon.com, November 17, 2010:
Bet you also believe the Holocaust didn’t happen too huh Andy?

You are dog crap; the lot of you.
Bobbie Jo Coffey, commenting here on August 6, 2011:
You are so rude… and a pompous, bigoted, un-educated ass…
Josephine Lindsay Bass, commenting at Blood of My Kindred, December 18, 2012, four days after a school shooting in Connecticut left twenty 6- and 7-year-olds dead:
Bless Your Heart, I do think you are lucky that no one has shot you in the face or gone to your kids school and shot up the place. I wonder when the haters and dividers get their due in this country. Ah well there is always next year.
These are the self-appointed defenders of Southron Honor.
But my fans are not just limited to Civil War buffs. Lookit:

Are you as redneck and unemployed as you look? . . . maybe you should put down the Bud and pick up a book. Also keep your eyes on your pay check and off mine, good Texans (many are) can shoot, drunk nuts are no threat except to my pocket.
Awesome-sauce.
